Support For Business

Over this past 3 weeks we have seen a progressive decline in society and the economy due to the spreading of Covid19 (Coronavirus). Over the past week this has gone from bad to worse as people stay home, the economy spirals downwards, and businesses are forced to close. Mrs. Thatcher once remarked “The medicine will be tough to make the patient better”. Only this time, there is no medicine yet available for the patient.

People are becoming ill, panicked and businesses are closing at an astonishing rate, partly due to the Governments closure orders. Make no mistake – this is not simply a flu. Despite the wild claims of some Youtube and Facebook ‘Virus Deniers’, and the spread of lies from Conspiracy theorists, Coronavirus is an indiscriminate killer virus which if it doesn’t kill you, it will use your body to find a new host, and almost certainly kill someone in your family or social circles. We cannot afford to be complacent or play ‘Russian Roulette’ with this pandemic. If you have seen the film ‘Contagion’, you will understand why.

One of the most sickening aspects of the effects of Coronavirus, have been listening to hundreds of clients phoning us in tears, asking for guidance as their businesses and jobs fall off the edge of the cliff. We too have been sat in tears as we hear the very human stories of loss and ruin. However, this is nothing compared to the stories we will hear about loved ones who die from contracting the virus. The projections are for a mid-range figure of 200,000 deaths in Britain, the highest being 500,000. Indeed, a Chief Medical officer for England stated that the deaths of 20,000 people would be “a favourable outcome”.

To the many businesses which have suffered and are about to suffer, the Government has made available billions of Pounds in aid and assistance. Some of it is currently unclear and some of it still has to make its way to the frontline of business bank accounts. Rather than us just say “we don’t really know yet, no-one truly knows yet”, we have given the links to the currently available information the Government has released. Please go to those webpages to find out more.

For all citizens both business people and workers, read the information published at the following page https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-employers-and-businesses-about-covid-19/covid-19-support-for-businesses

This contains information that might be of assistance to you.

All of those people who say “oh more people die from smoking or car crashes each year” or “flu kills more than 20,000 a year” are living in Cloud Cuckoo Land – they are a prime example of the very worst of people in our society, who live in denial and take a carefree attitude, thereby putting the rest of us at risk. If they infect 10 people then those 10 infect another 10 and then that becomes hundreds that can infect others, very soon we have an unstoppable wave of infection and deaths.

We should all completely avoid and effectively, cut out entirely, anyone in our daily lives who spread these stupid viewpoints. They are a real risk to the rest of society. Listen to the Government advice. Social distancing is your best weapon to starve the virus of any chance to leap from infected person to new host person. Otherwise there may well be the nightmare scenario that has taken place in Italy, France, Spain and many other countries worldwide. How many deaths are required before people start taking the advice seriously and protect themselves and their families?

For the next 2 weeks, the best survival policy is to stay at home, and have no contact with anyone other than those you live with. As the Government have stated, do not go out unless you absolutely have to.
